rad Cymru Wales: Meet the Trainees | rad Cymru Wales: Cwrdd â’r Hyfforddeion

rad Cymru Wales is a traineeship for people who would love to
work in television but haven’t been able to find a way in or have faced a barrier to entry. Trainees will take part
in an eight-month traineeship within a Welsh independent television production company and receive full
training throughout the placement.

The programme is funded by BBC, Channel 4, and Creative Wales.

Hyfforddeiaeth ar gyfer pobl a fyddai wrth eu bodd yn gweithio ym myd teledu ond nad ydynt wedi gallu dod o hyd i
ffordd i mewn neu sydd wedi wynebu rhwystr rhag mynediad yw rad Cymru Wales. Bydd hyfforddeion yn cymryd rhan
mewn hyfforddeiaeth wyth mis o fewn cwmni cynhyrchu teledu annibynnol Cymreig ac yn derbyn hyfforddiant llawn trwy
gydol y lleoliad.

Amelia Jones

Production Assistant | South Shore

Recently graduating from Bristol university with a BA in English and Theatre, Amelia
has spent the last three years studying many different mediums of creative work. Her final piece of
work was a re-imagining of British comedy-drama television series Fleabag. Alongside her
studies, Amelia has worked within the film industry. She has worked in front of the camera as a
supporting artist for BBC Three dark comedy series In My Skin and BBC One drama
Industry. However, her passions lie working behind the camera. She worked as a production
assistant for Bangkok production company Mbrella films, but also locally as a runner for Bristol
post-production company Films@59.


Cynorthwyydd Cynhyrchu | South Shore

Recently Wedi graddio’n ddiweddar o Brifysgol Bryste gyda BA mewn Saesneg a Theatr, mae
Amelia wedi treulio’r tair blynedd diwethaf yn astudio llawer o wahanol gyfryngau o
waith creadigol. Ei darn mwyaf diweddaf o waith oedd ail-ddychmygu’r gyfres deledu comedi-ddrama
Brydeinig Fleabag. Ochr yn ochr â’i hastudiaethau, mae Amelia wedi gweithio yn y diwydiant
ffilm. Mae hi wedi gweithio o flaen y camera fel artist cefnogol i gyfresi comedi tywyll BBC Three
In My Skin a drama BBC One Industry. Ond mae hi’n angerddol am weithio y tu ôl i’r
camera. Bu’n gweithio fel cynorthwyydd cynhyrchu i gwmni cynhyrchu Mbrella Films, Bangkok, ond hefyd
yn lleol fel rhedwr i gwmni ôl-gynhyrchu o Fryste, Films@59.

Amy Greening

Researcher | BBC Studios Drama

Amy recently completed her level 3 Creative Media Extended Diploma in TV and Film
Production in June 2023. Whilst studying, she applied for work experience, and had the opportunity
to work as a trainee runner for BBC’s It’s My Shout Productions as well as working for Boom Cymru on
both shows Cyw and Stwnsh Sadwrn. These experiences enhanced Amy’s skills even
further to the point where she wanted to pursue a career in the TV and Film industry. Amy is very
passionate about writing and all things research, and she is really looking forward to starting a
new adventure.

Cwblhaodd Amy ei Diploma Estynedig Lefel 3 yn y Cyfryngau Creadigol mewn Cynhyrchu
Teledu a Ffilm ym mis Mehefin 2023. Wrth astudio, gwnaeth gais am brofiad gwaith a chafodd y cyfle i
weithio fel rhedwr dan hyfforddiant i It’s My Shout Productions y BBC yn ogystal â gweithio i Boom
Cymru ar raglenni Cyw a Stwnsh Sadwrn. Fe wnaeth y profiadau hyn wella sgiliau Amy
hyd yn oed ymhellach nes iddi gyrraedd y pwynt lle’r oedd hi am ddilyn gyrfa yn y diwydiant Teledu a
Ffilm. Mae Amy yn angerddol iawn dros ysgrifennu ac ymchwil ac mae hi’n edrych ymlaen yn fawr at
ddechrau antur newydd.

Jobi Chan

Production Assistant | Chwarel

Jobi was born in Hong Kong, and spent her formative years between Hong Kong and the
UK. She fell in love with storytelling through theatre and film, which lead her to move to Brighton
in 2018 to pursue a degree in Filmmaking at the University of Sussex. At university she gained
experience in all stages of production, participating in both scripted and unscripted productions
and she fell more in love with the art of moving pictures. After leaving university she had produced
and directed a few music videos for independent artists and realised her passion lies in producing.
This will be her first job working in the creative industry.

Ganed Jobi yn Hong Kong a threuliodd ei blynyddoedd cynnar yn byw rhwng Hong Kong
a’r DU. Syrthiodd mewn cariad ag adrodd straeon trwy theatr a ffilm ac fe arweiniodd hynny at symud
i Brighton yn 2018 i ddilyn gradd mewn Ffilm ym Mhrifysgol Sussex. Yn y brifysgol cafodd brofiad ym
mhob cam o’r cynhyrchiad, gan gymryd rhan mewn cynyrchiadau wedi’u sgriptio a heb eu sgriptio a
syrthiodd yn fwy mewn cariad â’r grefft o luniau symudol. Wedi gadael y brifysgol, cynhyrchodd a
chyfarwyddodd ychydig o fideos cerddoriaeth ar gyfer artistiaid annibynnol a sylweddolodd fod ei
chalon mewn cynhyrchu. Hon fydd ei swydd gyntaf yn gweithio yn y diwydiant
creadigol.

Josh Jenkins

Edit Assistant | Gorilla

Josh grew up in the Welsh Valleys of Ystrad Mynach and has lived in Cardiff since
2017. He has spent the last 6 years working in the financial consultancy sector and has now decided
to pursue a complete change of career in post-production. Josh’s passion for editing stems from his
teenage years creating short films and comedy sketches with friends, and his long-term goal is to
become an Editor. In his spare time, Josh is a budding stand-up comedian and a keen guitarist.


Cynorthwyydd Golygu | Gorilla

Tyfodd Josh i fyny yn Ystrad Mynach, yn y Cymoedd, ac mae wedi byw yng Nghaerdydd
ers 2017. Mae wedi treulio’r 6 blynedd diwethaf yn gweithio yn y sector ymgynghoriaeth ariannol ac
mae bellach wedi penderfynu newid gyrfa yn llwyr a mynd i faes ôl-gynhyrchu. Mae angerdd Josh am
olygu yn deillio o’i arddegau, pan fu’n creu ffilmiau byr a sgetsys comedi gyda ffrindiau, a’i nod
hirdymor yw dod yn Olygydd. Yn ei amser hamdden, mae Josh yn ddigrifwr stand-yp ac yn gitarydd brwd.

Owain Llewellyn

Owain was born and raised in Cardiff, editing has always interested him. He has
learned all the main software, for fun he cuts films down to create trailers and different versions
of the films. Owain has always wanted to work in the post-production world, it’s a special feeling
to be able to turn almost anything into an interesting story. Outside the world of television and
media Owain is qualified in fitness training and he enjoys helping people to keep fit and healthy.

Cafodd Owain ei eni a’i fagu yng Nghaerdydd ac mae golygu wedi bod o ddiddordeb iddo
erioed. Mae wedi dysgu defnyddio’r prif feddalwedd i gyd ac mae e’n torri ffilmiau i greu
rhag-hysbysebion a fersiynau gwahanol o’r ffilmiau. Mae Owain wastad wedi bod eisiau gweithio yn y
byd ôl-gynhyrchu gan ei fod yn deimlad arbennig gallu troi bron unrhyw beth yn stori ddifyr. Y tu
allan i fyd teledu a’r cyfryngau mae Owain yn hyfforddiant ffitrwydd ac mae’n mwynhau helpu pobl i
gadw’n heini ac iach.

Rachel Lewis

Researcher| Boom Cymru

Rachel moved to Aberystwyth University to study Media and Communication studies
after enjoying it at A level. Here she developed her passion for TV production after studying the
various TV modules offered and found that TV shows were a true form of escapism. Rachel has found
that she was well suited to roles such as production assistant and runner after carrying out various
work experiences and voluntary traineeships ranging from high end TV drama to short documentaries.

Symudodd Rachel i Brifysgol Aberystwyth i astudio Astudiaethau Cyfryngau a
Chyfathrebu wedi iddi fwynhau’r pwnc yn lefel A. Fe ddatblygodd ei hangerdd am gynhyrchu teledu wedi
iddi astudio’r modiwlau teledu amrywiol a gynigiwyd a chanfod bod sioeau teledu yn cynnig dihangfa.
Mae Rachel wedi canfod ei bod yn siwtio rolau fel cynorthwyydd cynhyrchu a rhedwr wedi iddi gael
amrywiol brofiadau gwaith a hyfforddeiaethau gwirfoddol, yn amrywio o ddrama teledu i raglenni
dogfen byr.

Rebecca Hunt

Researcher| BBC Studios Factual Entertainment

After graduating in International Media and Communications, Rebecca started her
career in Digital Communications, where she had the privilege of crafting compelling and engaging
content for charities and NGOs.

As a human rights and environmental activist, she centres her efforts on intersectionality,
recognising that individuals often face multiple forms of oppression that intersect and reinforce
one another. Rebecca is fuelled by the importance of storytelling in driving social and
environmental progress. She believes in the transformative power of film and TV, particularly in the
realm of documentary filmmaking, to shed light on critical issues and inspire
action.

Wedi iddi raddio mewn Cyfryngau a Chyfathrebu Rhyngwladol, dechreuodd Rebecca ei gyrfa ym maes
Cyfathrebu Digidol, lle cafodd y fraint o grefftio cynnwys cymhellol ac atyniadol ar gyfer elusennau
a chyrff anllywodraethol.
Fel gweithredwr hawliau dynol ac amgylcheddol mae hi’n canolbwyntio ei
hymdrechion ar y croestoriadol, gan gydnabod bod unigolion yn aml yn wynebu sawl math o ormes sy’n
croestorri ac yn atgyfnerthu ei gilydd. Mae Rebecca yn cael ei hysgogi gan bwysigrwydd adrodd
