In late April 2018 we visted Canada’s famous Toronto-Waterloo Region with the Cross Creative delegates. Stretching east across the Waterloo region and over to Toronto and the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), the area known as The Corridor represents the largest concentration of tech companies, post-secondary institutions, start-ups and digital entrepreneurs outside of San Fran’s Silicon Valley.
“There has always been a strong affinity between Scotland and Canada. This North American tech hub is gaining a formidable global reputation as being at the forefront of AI, IoT and blockchain technologies, particularly across the FinTech and HealthTech sectors. Like Glasgow and Edinburgh, the city of Waterloo has a very strong entrepreneurial and tech ecosystem.”
Caroline Newson, Cross Creative Project Lead (and TRC’s resident Canadian!)
We clocked up an impressive 26 meetings in 5 days with a host of Toronto and Waterloo’s most exciting companies. Cross Creative delegate Rab Fyfe has penned a blog on some of the key takeaways from an intense week of meetings.
