Dwayne Eaton
Commissioning Editor for Arts and Entertainment, Sky
“My name’s Dwayne and I’m Commissioning Editor for Arts and Entertainment. I joined Sky in 2022 and during my time here I have had the pleasure to look after flagship shows such as The Russell Howard Hour, Fantasy Football and The Overlap On Tour.
Before joining Sky I previously worked as an Assistant Commissioner at the BBC, where I helped produce entertainment shows such as Drag Race UK (BBC3) and The Greatest Dancer (BBC1). After a year I was promoted to Commissioning Executive, with my main focus being finding new young skewing and diverse content. I was responsible for launching the BBC’s first ever black music entertainment show Tonight with Target, and streetwear competition The Drop for BBC Three. I also looked after long running shows such as Graham Norton, Only Connect and Hot Property.
As a Sky Commissioner my remit is to commission post watershed comedy entertainment shows for Sky Max, along with finding interesting ideas for Sky Arts. I have recently had two new exciting big budget projects greenlit which will be filmed later this year and they will be on Sky in 2025. I’m passionate about diversity, representation and working with emerging indies and talent. This year I helped Sky Sports set up and launch the New Focus Fund which gave commissions to small indies and new content makers. I’m also in the process of developing a social media project which will allow me to give opportunities to emerging diverse talent and indies who currently don’t have the requisite profile or experience to have their own show on Sky Max.”
