Creative Breakfast: Charlotte Reid
Say hello to our first Creative Breakfast of 2020!
Our Joint MD Margaret Scott sat down with Charlotte Reid, Head of Commissioning for the Lifestyle & Entertainment at Discovery Networks UK, for an informal discussion followed by a Q&A session with producers and development executives from the nations and regions.
Ms. Reid kicked off the lively session by describing her role, as she outlined how she commissions content and oversees factual entertainment and lifestyle programming for Really, Quest Red, Food Network, Home, TLC and ID.
Working closely with top talent, Charlotte has been instrumental in creating successful localised franchises, including Say Yes To The Dress Lancashire with Gok Wan, who Charlotte is also working with on a reboot of the lifestyle favourite, How to Look Good Naked.
The Head of Lifestyle & Entertainment also answered questions from the audience, including the best way to approach and pitch to Discovery, as well as their most recent successes and commissions. Charlotte also summarized the opportunities available for those in the nations and regions in particular.
