Factual Fast Track Scotland and Northern Ireland: meet the delegates!

This reputation building programme fast tracks established Producers who feel they are overlooked for larger scale and bigger budget productions on network by raising their profiles, extending their skills and experience, and expanding their networks so they become business winning Series Producers and Executive Producers for Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Here are the brilliant delegates of this year’s programme.

Tim Dowse profile picture

Tim Dowse

Tim has worked in several genres, including science, consumer, history and fact-ent, working with
crews and self-shooting. Over recent years, he has produced and directed several episodes of the
consumer series Supershoppers for C4; a two-part health series for C5, How to Stop your
IBS/Migraine
; two eps of London’s Greatest Bridges for C5, One Night in the
Museum
, a fact ent series for BBC Scotland; and also a new one-off consumer programme
Luxury Christmas for Less for C4, which has subsequently been commissioned as a six-part
series. Previous credits include various BBC Science programmes, including Trust Me I’m a Doctor.

Karen Donnelly profile picture

Karen Donnelly

Karen started her career working in London, on programmes like The One Show, Sunday Morning
Live
and Spend it Well. She moved back to Northern Ireland earlier in 2021 after
15 unsuccessful years of trying to find a better crisp than Tayto… She has a background in
journalism and studied at Queens University in Belfast and Falmouth University in Cornwall, before
moving to London and working her way up to becoming a producer. She is currently edit producing on
Mastermind, although this has (somewhat surprisingly) not helped her pub quiz skills in the
slightest.

Muireann McGinty

Muireann is a freelance Series Producer from Belfast with over a decade of experience in multi-genre
production. She has worked on current affairs and live studio programmes (BBC Sunday Morning
Live
, Spotlight Special, Nolan Live), documentaries and fact-ent formats (More 4’s
Ireland with Ardal O’Hanlon, BBC/RTÉ’s Peataí!), as well as the award-winning programmes
Spotlight-Buried Secrets and When is Sex Rape?, and A Very British Mission.
Muireann was a writer on Channel 5’s Mimi’s World – a live-action series currently filming
in Belfast, and her short documentary Feed debuted at Galway Film Fléadh ‘21.

Patricia Moore

Patricia has developed and produced hundreds of hours of factual, entertainment and children’s
content for UK and Irish broadcasters including Danny Boy: The Ballad that Bewitched the World
(BBC4) My Life: Champion of the World
(CBBC) which won an IFTA for Best Children’s
Programme, Born to Riverdance (BBC One) and Keeping up with The Maileys (BBC
One).  Patricia also co-developed Tyrone Productions’ award-winning series The High Hopes
Choir
(RTE) and was a delegate on the TRC SuperSizer training programme for
development executives in 2018-2019.

Sarah Wright

Sarah is a highly experienced producer working across factual and factual entertainment. Having made
her start in Children’s, her credits now span a broad range of genres, channels and audiences. As a
Producer she has worked on a variety of popular series such as Scotland’s Home of the Year
(BBC Scotland), The Yorkshire Auction House (Discovery), Location, Location
Location
(Channel 4), and was the Casting Producer on a brand-new BBC series, The
Travelling Auctioneers
(BBC1). Sarah is currently Series Producing the first Scotland’s
Christmas Home of the Year
special for BBC Scotland.

Tom is an experienced producer and edit producer who’s worked across a variety of genres over the
last 15 years including Documentary (Born to Be Wild, Island Medics), Prime Time Features
(Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas, Escape to the Farm), Daytime (Gok’s Fill Your House For
Free, Nightforce)
and Children’s (Officially Amazing, Incredible Edibles).

Tulip Chicoine (Job Share)

With over fifteen years of experience in factual television, Tulip has worked on productions large
and small across the globe for the BBC, Channel 4, Sky, Fox and Youtube. Her credits include
everything from presenter-led docs such as Billy Connolly: Portrait of a Lifetime and
Brian May’s Brief History of 3D
, to popular series like Tricks of the Restaurant Trade
and How to Stay Well to live events like the World Music Awards. In development
Tulip’s credits include Keeping Britain Fed for BBC Two, and multiple episodes of The
Truth About
strand for BBC One. Tulip is delighted to be partnering with fellow telly Mum
Zoe in a job share on the programme.

Zoe is a skilled and creative Producer with over 10 years of experience working across genres
including observational and current affairs, documentaries, science, arts, and history. Her credits
include One Night at the Museum, Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas and This Farming
Life
. Based in Glasgow, Zoe is a proud Telly Mum, and is delighted to be part of Factual
Fast Track in a job share partnership with Tulip.

Jane Handa

After spending six years as a Lighting Camerawoman with all major UK broadcasters on productions such
as The One ShowMake Me A Baby and The Real Hustle, Jane
transitioned to become a Shooting Producer Director. Her first assignment was aboard military
helicopters documenting their search and rescue efforts in Highland Emergency and
she continued for the next 10 years PD’ing formats such as the Scottish Bafta winning debut
series This Farming Life, Gold Rush and Eden. Jane now has several credits as
Series Producer for C5’s prime time factual entertainment output.
