TRC Presents: Across the Nations

Local stories with global impact

In March 2026, we partnered with BAFTA Scotland in an exclusive event exploring why distinctly Scottish and Northern Irish dramas are resonating so powerfully with global audiences.

We were joined by Rob Bullock, Executive Producer at Left Bank Pictures (Department Q) and Brian J. Falconer, Co-Founder of Out of Orbit and Producer of How To Get To Heaven from Belfast.

Scottish and Northern Irish dramas have connected with audiences far beyond their home markets. This session looked at why: from the clarity of the storytelling to the ambition of the production, the tone, scale, and talent that shape these series. The two leading producers broke down the creative choices behind their success, what makes these shows travel, and what this growing momentum means for future work in the nations.

Following this, there was be a chance to network with fellow Scotland based producers and writers, ranging from indie filmmakers to TV companies looking to move into network or high-end drama.
