rad Cymru Wales is a traineeship for people who would love to
work in television but haven’t been able to find a way in or have faced a barrier to entry. Trainees will take part
in an eight-month traineeship within a Welsh independent television production company and receive full
training throughout the placement.
The programme is funded by BBC, Channel 4, and Creative Wales.

Amelia Jones
Production Assistant | South Shore
Recently graduating from Bristol university with a BA in English and Theatre, Amelia
has spent the last three years studying many different mediums of creative work. Her final piece of
work was a re-imagining of British comedy-drama television series Fleabag. Alongside her
studies, Amelia has worked within the film industry. She has worked in front of the camera as a
supporting artist for BBC Three dark comedy series In My Skin and BBC One drama
Industry. However, her passions lie working behind the camera. She worked as a production
assistant for Bangkok production company Mbrella films, but also locally as a runner for Bristol
post-production company Films@59.

Amy Greening
Researcher | BBC Studios Drama
Amy recently completed her level 3 Creative Media Extended Diploma in TV and Film
Production in June 2023. Whilst studying, she applied for work experience, and had the opportunity
to work as a trainee runner for BBC’s It’s My Shout Productions as well as working for Boom Cymru on
both shows Cyw and Stwnsh Sadwrn. These experiences enhanced Amy’s skills even
further to the point where she wanted to pursue a career in the TV and Film industry. Amy is very
passionate about writing and all things research, and she is really looking forward to starting a
new adventure.

Jobi Chan
Production Assistant | Chwarel
Jobi was born in Hong Kong, and spent her formative years between Hong Kong and the
UK. She fell in love with storytelling through theatre and film, which lead her to move to Brighton
in 2018 to pursue a degree in Filmmaking at the University of Sussex. At university she gained
experience in all stages of production, participating in both scripted and unscripted productions
and she fell more in love with the art of moving pictures. After leaving university she had produced
and directed a few music videos for independent artists and realised her passion lies in producing.
This will be her first job working in the creative industry.

Josh Jenkins
Edit Assistant | Gorilla
Josh grew up in the Welsh Valleys of Ystrad Mynach and has lived in Cardiff since
2017. He has spent the last 6 years working in the financial consultancy sector and has now decided
to pursue a complete change of career in post-production. Josh’s passion for editing stems from his
teenage years creating short films and comedy sketches with friends, and his long-term goal is to
become an Editor. In his spare time, Josh is a budding stand-up comedian and a keen guitarist.
Cynorthwyydd Golygu | Gorilla
Tyfodd Josh i fyny yn Ystrad Mynach, yn y Cymoedd, ac mae wedi byw yng Nghaerdydd
ers 2017. Mae wedi treulio’r 6 blynedd diwethaf yn gweithio yn y sector ymgynghoriaeth ariannol ac

Owain Llewellyn
Edit Assistant | Rondo
Owain was born and raised in Cardiff, editing has always interested him. He has
learned all the main software, for fun he cuts films down to create trailers and different versions
of the films. Owain has always wanted to work in the post-production world, it’s a special feeling
to be able to turn almost anything into an interesting story. Outside the world of television and
media Owain is qualified in fitness training and he enjoys helping people to keep fit and healthy.

Rachel Lewis
Researcher| Boom Cymru
Rachel moved to Aberystwyth University to study Media and Communication studies
after enjoying it at A level. Here she developed her passion for TV production after studying the
various TV modules offered and found that TV shows were a true form of escapism. Rachel has found
that she was well suited to roles such as production assistant and runner after carrying out various
work experiences and voluntary traineeships ranging from high end TV drama to short documentaries.

Rebecca Hunt
Researcher| BBC Studios Factual Entertainment
After graduating in International Media and Communications, Rebecca started her
career in Digital Communications, where she had the privilege of crafting compelling and engaging
content for charities and NGOs.
As a human rights and environmental activist, she centres her efforts on intersectionality,
recognising that individuals often face multiple forms of oppression that intersect and reinforce
one another. Rebecca is fuelled by the importance of storytelling in driving social and
environmental progress. She believes in the transformative power of film and TV, particularly in the
realm of documentary filmmaking, to shed light on critical issues and inspire
action.

During the event we’ll be chatting all things Reset – what you need to know, top tips for your application and what to expect if you are successful. We will be joined by some special guests, including representatives from the host companies.
Reset is a paid eight-month traineeship within a Scottish Animation, Visual Effects (VFX) or Games company which includes full training throughout the placement and is aimed at new entrants to the industry with transferable skills from all walks of life.

TRC announces the return of Reset traineeship for new entrants to the Animation, VFX and Games sector
Building on the success of the pilot training initiative TRC, supported by Screen Scotland via the recently
established BFI National Lottery Skills Cluster Fund, has today announced that applications are now open for the
2023 edition of Reset.
The Reset
traineeship is aimed at people from all walks of life who are keen to transfer their skills, experience and
knowledge to a new industry, and establish a future career in the animation, VFX and games sectors.
Reset trainees will learn from the best with award-winning animation, VFX and games studios across Scotland taking
part. Previous host companies include Wild Child Animation in Stirling, Interference Pattern in Edinburgh and
Blazing Griffin, ISO Design and Revenant in Glasgow.
The first iteration of the programme, which focused on retraining those who had been affected by the pandemic and EU
exit, was a great success with most trainees securing further work in their new careers on completion.
Having completed the 2022 programme, trainee Samantha Medlam, who started her journey on Reset with Wild Child
Animation and is now a Layout Artist for Jellyfish Pictures, commented:
“I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Reset changed my life. Reset gave me space to learn whilst in a working
environment and whilst being paid – it was a dream come true! And alongside getting experience in the actual
industry, and with other people, we had many training days that were all aimed at our success – we were being
cheered on by everyone, and it was amazing!”
TRC’s Managing Director Claire Scally commented:
“Reset is an exciting, inclusive and immediate opportunity for talented individuals with excellent transferrable
skills and experience to join Scotland’s animation, VFX and games industries. We are delighted to announce the
return of this programme following a successful pilot, and we look forward to continuing supporting new entrants to
the sector.”

“Over the last five years Screen Scotland has invested record levels of funding into on-the-job skills development
and training, a core element of our strategy to position Scotland as one of the best places to start and develop a
career in film and television. The success of the RESET pilot was acknowledged by BFI and this new 2023 edition is
supported by both the BFI and Screen Scotland as part of the BFI’s Skills Cluster for Scotland, delivered by Screen
Scotland. It’s fantastic that VFX and animation in Scotland now has a dedicated training programme to support the
continued growth of this sector.”
Key Dates and Criteria:
There is no upper age limit for Reset (applicants must be over 18) and previous experience is not essential. However,
to be eligible applicants must:
- Have a demonstrable interest in the Animation, VFX and Games industries.
- Be passionate, motivated and keen to learn new skills.
- Be able to participate in and commit to this development training programme for eight months from February to
October 2024.
The roles available on the programme include Junior Artist / Animation Assistant, UI and Motion Graphic
Artist/Designer, Production Assistant / Operations Assistant, CG Assistant, and Junior Producer.
We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and groups that may be under-represented groups in the animation,
VFX and games sectors.

John MacLaverty is a Producer/Director who – along with his partner – runs a small Indie called
Indelible Telly. The Glasgow based company has been in existence for the past 5 years, though John
has been working in the TV mines for over 20 years – both at the BBC, Indies and for all the main
channels. Specialising in Scottish social history – especially pop culture and entertainment – John
has just finished his very first Feature Length Documentary.

Imogen Gabony-Brock, Freelance
Imogen boasts over 15 years of experience in production and development. With
producing credits spanning a diverse range of shows, from prime-time hits like ITV2’s “The
Only Way is Essex” to feature series such as Channel 4’s “Body-shockers”.
Over the past 5 years, Imogen has honed her career in development. She has consistently engaged with
a broad spectrum of genres and played a pivotal role in securing commissions, including BBC 2’s
“Ultimate Wedding Planner” and Channel 4’s “Britain’s Tourette’s Mystery: Scarlett
Moffatt Investigates”.
She recently spent over two years as a Development Exec at Full Fat TV helping broaden their slate with new commissions including Channel Five’s “A&E: Crash Scene Emergency.”
Imogen’s TV aspirations have always been the same – to create shows that people talk about for all the right reasons! Her previous roles include stints at Firecracker, BBC Studios, Keshet UK, Lime, and Shine North.

Connie Sneddon, Development Producer, IWC Media
Connie is a Development Producer and has been working full-time in development for 3
years now, working across an array of genres. Specialising in youth-skewing content, Connie also
works predominantly on features and factual entertainment formats and true crime. Connie has most
recently been working as Story Producer on the second series of her returnable obs-doc/reality show,
‘The Agency: Unfiltered’, and loves being able to work across both production and
development. Her goal is to create a bold returnable factual entertainment format that when you say
the title, everyone knows what you’re talking about!

Megan Payne, Development Executive, Salamanda Media
Megan started her development career at Emporium Productions in 2017. With a strong
track record of gaining access to incredible institutions and people, Megan devised and produced
blue-light series 999: Britain From Above for ITV1.
She moved to Manchester in 2019 and has worked in development teams across the North including at
Blakeway North, BBC Studios and The Garden Yorkshire, helping to secure popular returnable series
for Channel 5, BBC and UKTV.
She specialises in factual entertainment, talent-led factual and formats and is currently developing
an exciting and fresh slate for Salamanda Media.

Kate McGlade, Development Executive, Alleycats TV
Kate recently moved back to Northern Ireland after 18 years in London working in
development and production at some of the biggest indies in the UK (BBC Studios, Endemol Shine,
Optomen, Renegade, Youngest Media).
Kate has originated/co-originated several Fact Ent formats and returning series including Mary
Queen of Charity Shops (BBC2), Filth (RTL2), Secret Shopper
(Channel4), and most recently Clive Myrie’s Italian Roadtrip (BBC2).
Among her programme making credits, Kate has produced and directed on network series including
The Apprentice (BBC1), Bodyshockers (C4) and Secret Eaters (C4).
Now back home, Kate is working with the brilliant team at Alleycats with a shared goal of developing
returning unscripted series created and made in Northern Ireland.

Fiona Wilson, Executive Producer, Ricochet
Fiona has worked in factual television for over twenty years, producing factual
entertainment and documentary series for all the major broadcasters, including The
Apprentice for BBC One, This Farming Life for BBC Two and Class of Mum and
Dad for Channel 4.
She is an Executive Producer at Ricochet Glasgow and is currently overseeing the long running Channel
4 series, Sun, Sea and Selling Houses.
Throughout her career, Fiona has worked in both production and development and has helped win
commissions for IWC Media and BBC Studios.
Fiona is passionate about the growth and success of production in the Nations & Regions and is
focused on supersizing Ricochet’s Glasgow base.

Kate Reid, Development Producer, Firecrest Films
Kate is a producer originally from The Scottish Highlands, who’s passionate about watching, developing and making great television.
She has been working in development since 2022, and prior to this produced a range of primetime programmes including C4’s ‘The Moneymaker’, BBC1’s Gordon Ramsay’s ‘Future Food Stars’ and ‘Our Great Yorkshire Life’ for Channel 5.
Previously she has created a broad range of content for both broadcasters and YouTube channels and has worked on household favourites from ‘Question Time’ to ‘Come Dine With Me’.

Claire Scollie, Freelance
Claire entered the industry in 2012 via ‘Future Formats’, run by BBC Worldwide. From a
background in supporting victims of domestic violence, the transferable skills that were relevant,
particularly having difficult conversations, building trust and problem solving, were soon evident.
With development as her natural habitat, she has since taken ideas including primetime factual pieces
for ITV and BBC2 from top line concept through to greenlight, and often into production. Recent
credits include The Queen & Her Cousins with Alexander Armstrong and I’m An
Alcoholic: Inside Recovery.
Whether it’s tracing extended royal family members, interviewing the retired Yorkshire Ripper case
constables, or securing access to Alcoholics Anonymous UK, Claire loves to bring incredible stories
to life.

Hollie Abbott, Director of Development, BOOM Cymru
Hollie is the Director of Development at Cardiff-based Boom – part of the ITV
Studios group. She oversees a broad slate of network and internationally focused factual and fact
ent formats, that range from medical rig-shows to talent-led travelogues, bold new reality concepts
to supersized competition formats.
She is a development specialist having worked at a wide range of companies including Zinc Media,
Firecracker, Keshet and STV.
Her credits include Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over (W), Big Zuu’s Big
Eats (Dave), Hot Cakes (BBC Three/CBC Gem/TVNZ), Alan
Carr’s Adventures with Agatha Christie (More4) Adults Only (5Star)
and upcoming Our Little Farm on the Prairie (C5) and Who Will Love My
Doggy? (Channel 5)

Rosie Costello, Development Producer, Motif Pictures
Rosie is a Development Producer at Motif Pictures in Gateshead, where she works
across their varied slate of projects, from scripted comedy and drama to documentaries and factual
entertainment formats. Rosie is especially interested in developing scripted content set in the
nations & regions. Before joining Motif, she completed her Master’s in Screenwriting in LA and
worked as an Executive Producer at Titan TV, where she developed three short-form factual
entertainment shows and one roundtable news show, which were released on public broadcast channels
across Southern California. Previously, Rosie worked at Channel 4 in their Traffic team.

Rachel Barrie, Head of Development, Afanti Media
Rachel first got the bug for coming up with creative ideas, clinching access and
finding fresh talent and stories when working as Forward Planning AP for Countryfile.
Since then, Rachel has held a number of increasingly senior positions in development at a range
independent, regional production companies across Bristol, Manchester and Leeds, and played a key
role winning several commissions and funded developments from broadcasters such as Channel 4, BBC,
E4 and Discovery+.
Having most recently joined Afanti Media as their new Head of Development in Cardiff, Rachel loves
nothing more than writing and designing creative pitches, puzzling out formats and coming up with
creative – sometimes off-the-wall – ideas for new fact, features and lightly constructed ob-doc
series.

Jackie Savery, Company Director, Maramedia
Jackie has extensive experience developing and producing factual and children’s
content. Co-founding Maramedia in 2010 she has jointly overseen the company’s growth into an
award-winning Scottish production company.
She was lead producer on the company’s Emmy-nominated Highlands series (narrated by Ewan
McGregor) and recent credits include Chasing the Rains for Sky Nature and the upcoming
Scotland the New Wild for BBC Scotland & Terra Mater Factual studios. With a particular
passion for nature storytelling, Jackie has been developing genre-defying formats like
Autumnwatch and Gudrun the Viking Princess for more than 15 years. More recently
she developed and exec-produced 2 series of Olga da Polga – a new CBeebies drama based on
Michael Bond’s eponymous Guinea Pig hero.

David Kerr, Senior Development Producer, Tern TV
David has worked across both production and development over the past 10 years,
with a real focus on factual entertainment and comedy entertainment formats.
Currently a Senior Development Producer at Tern TV, past Producer/Senior Development Producer roles
span BBC Studios Factual Entertainment, Two Rivers Media and Beezr Studios, with time spent cutting
his teeth at companies like Hungry Bear, 12 Yard, Objective, Remedy and BBC Children’s.
Recent and past commissions include the feel-good travelogue Martin Compston’s Norwegian
Fling (BBC Two), daytime DIY show Tool Club (CH4), and youth-skewing adventure
format Wild Weekends (BBC Three).
He is passionate about championing regional and working-class voices within the industry and wants to
help continue the growth of Tern’s entertainment arm – developing strong global returning formats
right from Glasgow.

Dawn Elrick, Head of Factual Development, Beezr Studios
Dawn has been making TV programmes for over two decades – making documentaries and
arts programmes. Additionally, Dawn has several years as a development producer under her belt – she
is at home creating both fact ent formats, factual series and documentaries. She is currently
working at Beezr on an ambitious and diverse slate for broadcasters in the UK and beyond.
Film FastTrack is our newest development programme aimed at supporting talented
scripted Film Producers in Scotland.
The two-year development programme, funded by Screen Scotland, was designed
with course leader Julia Short to boost the careers of ambitious scripted Film Producers.
Film FastTrack will enable the producers to focus on their slate and develop
relationships with new writing and directing talent. Delegates will benefit from bespoke training sessions and
monthly check-ins, as well as a combination of in person and online masterclasses, including script development,
finance, business coaching, and negotiation sessions.

Paul Murray is a BAFTA Scotland, RTS and Banff Rocky award-winning producer with over 20 years of experience. Paul
has focussed the last three years on building an impressive slate of original scripted work.
Selected by Screen International as a ‘Rising Star Scotland’, Reece Cargan’s slate includes award winning shorts
focused on LGBTQIA+ stories & voices such as J.C. Goessens’ Everyman.

Amy Jackson
Amy Jackson is an Independent Spirit Award & British Independent Film Award winning,
BAFTA & Gotham Award nominated film and television producer. Credits include: Sean Durkin’s
2020 critically acclaimed feature The Nest; Oscar-winner Graham Moore’s directorial debut
The Outfit; and Charlotte Wells’ 2022 break-out debut Aftersun. In 2020, Jackson
established feature and television company, Unified Theory. The company is focused on finding and
growing distinctive new voices, and developing original stories in film and television for global
audiences. Most recently Jackson produced Mahalia Belo’s debut feature The End We Start From,
which will receive its world premiere at TIFF 2023.

Ken Petrie
Ken is the founder and CEO of 27 Ten Productions. Having initially entered the industry as an SFX
Technician and Explosives Engineer working on major studio films, Ken transitioned by producing
several award-winning short films which all signed global distribution deals. Ken produced the WW2
historical action drama, Enemy Within, based on a true story which filmed at Pinewood
Studios in Malaysia. More recently, Ken produced Screen Star of Tomorrow George Jaques’ debut
feature, Black Dog. Ken’s slate includes Jaques’ next film, Sunny Dancer; Ten
Times Dead (with development funding from Screen Scotland); time-travel thriller
Flashback set-up with The Exchange; and musical dance comedy, Dancing With the
Scars.

Paul Murray
Paul Murray is a BAFTA Scotland, RTS and Banff Rocky award-winning producer with over 20 years of UK
and International television experience. He has worked in scripted and non-scripted production in
many of the biggest production companies in the UK- including Endemol, Objective, IWC and True
North. As creator of C4’s long running and multi-award winning series Location, Location,
Location, as well as the BBC’s Antiques Road Trip and its Celebrity spin-offs, he
has created many of the longest lasting and most successful network series produced from Scotland.
In addition to his network production credits, he has lectured about format production and
development in China, the University of Westminster and various Scottish Institutions. He is
co-owner of production entity Boy 313 and a fine art graduate from Glasgow School of Art

Reece Cargan
Reece is an RTS award winning producer and founder of Bombito productions. Reece was selected by
Screen International as a ‘Rising Star Scotland’ and has represented Scotland at IFFR Producer’s
Lab, BFI Insight and EAVE Producer’s Workshop. Reece solidified his producing skills with
multiple award winning shorts as producer and with regular production work across features, TV
and commercials. Bombito have a number of TV and feature projects in commissioned development.
Reece – as the Bombito slate attests, is passionate about working with the next generation of
queer UK talent, with a focus on intersectional LGBTQIA+ stories & voices.
Earlier this year we gathered together our friends, colleagues and supporters to celebrate 25 years of TRC.
The past few years have been very busy here at TRC, with with our ongoing and industry leading development programmes, traineeships, and short courses, as well as some new additions to our
team. In the past year alone, we delivered more training than ever before, providing more and more
opportunities to a range of broadcasting professionals and new entrants to the industry.
From traineeships like rad, FormatLab and Reset, to our development programmes SuperSizer, Factual Fast Track and Leading Creative Companies, to the most recent Series Producer Programme and Film FastTrack, our aim is to continue supporting the creative sector all across Scotland and the Nations and Regions.
As we celebrate our 25th year of activity, we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that is part of our TRC network: our funders and stakeholders, our board, our trainers, our team over the years, our alumni and delegates.

rad is a paid eight-month traineeship within a Scottish independent television production company which
includes full training throughout the placement. The programme is aimed at those who are underrepresented
in the TV industry: those either with a disability, from black, Asian or ethnic minority communities or from
disadvantaged backgrounds.
Here are the brilliant delegates of this year’s programme.

Alf Payne, Researcher, BBC Science
Alf is a creative scientist who, through broadcast media, aims to bring together his
mutual passions of science and storytelling. After receiving first class honours in undergraduate
Chemistry from Cardiff University, he moved to Glasgow in 2021 to study towards a PhD. In his spare
time, Alf has volunteered in media and events, working with Scottish filmmakers, digital radio
stations and music festivals. After experiencing life behind a camera, he decided to take a step
away from academic research to pursue science communication work and is grateful to trc media and
BBC Studios for providing his first experience in the TV industry.

Annie Bowles, Researcher, IWC Media
Annie has always been interested in telling stories, asking who listens, who watches
and who speaks? Graduating from the University of Sussex with a degree in English, Annie moved to
Glasgow to pursue a career in arts and media. After studying the Creative Writing MLitt at the
University of Glasgow, she co-created literary and arts zine chewgulpspit with a band of fellow
creatives and local arts organisations. Annie is passionate about championing voices who are often
silenced or go unheard. Being obsessed with television from a young age, she is fascinated with how
the medium reflects and mirrors the current cultural moment. She is delighted to be given the
opportunity to learn and put her skills into action in the industry.

Caitlin Auld, Researcher, BBC River City
After graduating in Marketing in 2012, Caitlin initially started her career in PR
& Events. She particularly enjoyed the storytelling aspect of brand development as well as live
event production, working on festivals and large scale events. Caitlin is passionate about social
issues that face women and children, particularly those from socio-economically challenged
backgrounds. She has worked and volunteered within charities that tackle: maternal employment
rights; positive childbirthing; infant feeding and helping young families in the asylum system. In
2018, she also created her own online platform that served to highlight free or low-cost resources
and activities for parents in Scotland.

Jonathan Kennedy, Production Assistant, Sunset + Vine
Jonathan has worked extensively in Scottish theatre and events for the past Eight
years. During this time working in producing, receiving, and touring theatre in a wide range of
roles from stage technician to venue/site manager, with coming on onboard with TRC Jonathan is
making the leap to television to learn and expand his skill set but also to utilise existing
tradecraft.

Kelsey Burke, Production Assistant, Hello Halo
Glasgow native and life-long lover of film and television, Kelsey graduated from
Edinburgh Napier University in 2022 with a degree in English and Film. She was inspired to pursue
higher education to further investigate the power of storytelling. Excited to embark on her career,
Kelsey is passionate about championing diverse narratives and amplifying marginalised voices. She
hopes to contribute to a more inclusive media landscape.

Lucy McKenna, Production Assistant, Firecrest
Lucy graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Masters of Arts in Film and
Television Studies. Throughout her studies, Lucy directed and produced several short films, and
worked on others including a Gaelic film that garnered multiple nominations at the Gaelic Film
Awards 2023. In her pursuit of excellence and to further explore her passions in storytelling, Lucy
also attended the renowned Met Film School in London, where she gained valuable experience in
directing and producing. This opportunity allowed her to refine her skills and immerse herself in
the thriving film industry. Lucy is excited to embark on a journey of growth and learning. She
recognizes the quality of experience and opportunities that lie ahead and is eager to contribute her
talent and dedication to our team.

Sadie Heather, Researcher, Tern
From a small town in the central belt, Sadie has always dreamt big, regardless of
anyone else’s doubts. It has always been her dream to be involved and working in the television and
film industry. From making home movies, to promoting school trips with self-made films, Sadie knew
she wanted to study this further and is now graduating the University of Stirling, with a Film and
Media degree. With volunteering for the women’s football team at university as Head of Media and
runner experience with the BBC, she is more than ready, in fact over the moon, to get stuck into
this traineeship and see what amazing opportunities it brings.

Wacera Kamonji, Researcher, Hopscotch
Wacera Kamonji (she/her) is an Edinburgh-based theatre and film graduate and
creative cultural practitioner. She has worked in various roles within festivals and grassroots
organisations from sales and marketing to curating programmes for film festivals. She hopes to
develop her work in film production and curation. Through collaborations with organisations and
artists, she creates space for BIPOC and economically disadvantaged people to apply for roles and
receive training and education and showcase their work to a wider audience. Wacera’s mission is to
encourage diversity within the creative industry both on and behind the screen.

Linda Zake, Production Assistant, STV Studios
Linda Kima Zake, a Latvian native now residing in Edinburgh, has harboured an
unwavering passion for the visual arts from a young age. Delving into the realms of photography and
film, she embraced experimentation and honed her skills, leading her to showcase her work in
esteemed film festivals. Fascinated by unscripted TV, Kima actively sought opportunities to expand
her knowledge in the field. Alongside her artistic endeavours, she demonstrated her keen
organizational prowess by spearheading events like the Baltic Anime Festival (now UniCon) and
hosting enchanting roleplaying camps for Harry Potter enthusiasts during summers. While working in
various customer service roles, Kima seized every chance to upskill and thrive in her multifaceted
journey. Beyond her creative pursuits, Kima is deeply interested in the abolition movement and
transformative justice, advocating for a more equitable and compassionate society.

Amarah Butt, Researcher, Raise The Roof Productions
Amarah, a passionate film and TV enthusiast, has a diverse background that has
shaped their deep appreciation for the world of entertainment. With a keen eye for storytelling,
they have always been captivated by the magic of the silver screen. From a young age, Amarah
immersed themselves in a wide range of films and TV shows, exploring various genres and styles. This
exploration fueled their curiosity and ignited a desire to understand the intricacies of film/TV
making. Their interest extends beyond watching, as they also enjoy analyzing and discussing the art
of cinematography, character development and narrative structure. With an appetite for knowledge,
Amarah continues to delve into the ever-evolving world of film and TV, always seeking to expand
their understanding and share their insights with others.

Laura Menzies, Production Assistant, Red Sky
Laura studied Contemporary Art in Perth and then made the move to Glasgow to pursue
a career in the creative industries. She has spent the last few years working as a graphic designer
in the music industry where she has worked for artists, venues and record labels throughout the UK.
Laura is now bringing her artistic flair and creative skills developed through her previous work to
the television industry

Annie Holroyd
Development Assistant, rad Cymru Wales 2022
Before the rad programme, Annie graduated from Bangor University where she studied Film, Performance,
Journalism and Creative Writing. As a trainee, she started at Little Door Productions as a
Production Assistant but, craving more creative involvement, moved across to the development team a
few months later. Now a Development Assistant, Annie assists the team on a variety of projects,
working across research and submissions as well as diary and meeting management.
Annie has experience in several student and short films as a writer, editor, production assistant,
actor and casting associate, and is a current member of It’s My Shout’s 2023 Casting Associates
pool. Most recently, Annie got her first major on-set experience as a runner for several days on Red
Seam and Little Door’s co-production of The Way, a Port Talbot drama directed by Michael
Sheen.

Cyn y rhaglen rad, graddiodd Annie o Brifysgol Bangor lle astudiodd Ffilm, Perfformio,
Newyddiaduraeth ac Ysgrifennu Creadigol. Fel hyfforddai, dechreuodd yn Little Door Productions fel
Cynorthwy-ydd Cynhyrchu ond, yn ysu am fwy o brofiad creadigol, symudodd i’r tîm datblygu ychydig
fisoedd yn ddiweddarach. Bellach yn Gynorthwyydd Datblygu, mae Annie yn cynorthwyo’r tîm ar

Red Wade
Production Assistant , rad Cymru Wales 2022
Red started out as a hair and makeup trainee in HETV, however they wanted to change career paths to
the production office, but they didn’t know how. RAD helped them achieve their first Production
Assistant credits in TV with Little Bird Films, along with department specific training. Red is now
on the path to stepping up in their career while they are learning on a Production Management
Bootcamp with Solihull College and University Centre.
Outside of work, Red is a Producer for fiction short films, having one of their most recent projects
funded by WWF Cymru. They trained with the BFI Film Academy, NFTS Craft Skills course, BFI Network
Creative Producers Lab, and they are currently a BAFTA Mentee.
Cynorthwyydd Cynhyrchu, rad Cymru Wales 2022
Dechreuodd Red fel hyfforddai gwallt a cholur gyda HETV, ond roedden nhw eisiau newid llwybrau gyrfa
i’r swyddfa gynhyrchu. Doedden nhw ddim yn gwybod sut felly fe helpodd rad nhw i gyflawni eu
credydau Cynorthwyydd Cynhyrchu cyntaf mewn Teledu gyda Little Bird Films, ynghyd â hyfforddiant
penodol i adrannau. Mae Red bellach ar y llwybr i gamu i fyny yn eu gyrfa tra maent yn dysgu ar
Bwtcamp Rheoli Cynhyrchu gyda Choleg Solihull a Chanolfan y Brifysgol.
Y tu allan i’r gwaith, mae Red yn Gynhyrchydd ffilmiau byr ffuglen, gydag un o’u prosiectau

Iqbal Khokhar
Edit Assistant, rad Scotland 2021
Iqbal joined the industry as an Edit Assistant through the RAD scheme and has rapidly progressed to
Assistant Editor. He has gained broadcast and SVODs credits for Amazon Prime, BBC, CH4, CH5, Sky,
Discovery+ and Netflix. His most recent credits are as an additional editor working alongside
Charlie Russell for Curious Films on projects for the BBC and CH4. He has worked for several indies
in Glasgow, including Firecrest and Tern TV, and was recently selected to be a part of the Grierson
DocLab Editing programme supported by Netflix.

Ymunodd Iqbal â’r diwydiant fel Cynorthwyydd Golygu trwy’r cynllun rad ac mae wedi symud ymlaen yn
gyflym i fod yn Olygydd Cynorthwyol. Mae wedi ennill credydau darlledu a SVOD ar gyfer Amazon Prime,
