Applications open for fifth edition of SuperSizer

Glasgow-based training organisation TRC announces the fifth edition of professional development programme SuperSizer.

The programme, which first launched in 2017, is looking for ambitious Development Executives based in the Nations and Regions looking to win high value commissions and develop ideas of scale for the next big returning series.

SuperSizer 2021/22 follows on from four successful years of the programme, which has connected 64 Development Executives with leading commissioners at broadcasters including BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV, Netflix and Sky,

Last year’s programme was held exclusively online for the first time due to the pandemic which included weekly training sessions on topics such as pitching and presentation skills, leading creative teams and personal impact & influence. Put in commissioner meetings too

This year, delegates can look forward to a hybrid approach – an introductory session will be held in-person in October in Glasgow followed by a blend of online and in-person training sessions as well as exclusive access to the UK’s top broadcasters and commissioners.

SuperSizer is funded by Channel 4, BBC Nations and Regions and Screen Scotland.

SuperSizer 2019/20 delegate Chamoun Issa commented that SuperSizer was:

A revelation! A very handy compass into the difficult aspects of development: how to give feedback, how to say no and how to ask for what you want!

Claire Scally and Margaret Scott, Joint Managing Directors of TRC said:

“We are delighted to be launching SuperSizer for the fifth time. At TRC, we remain committed to championing talent from the Nations and Regions and look forward to meeting the next cohort of ambitious Development Executives.”

Applications are now open and will close at 5pm on Friday 10th September.
