Angela Chan is Head of Creative Diversity and Special Projects at Channel 4
Angela leads Channel 4’s efforts to ensure diversity is at the heart of the broadcaster’s commissioning process and drives forward its 360° Diversity Charter and new ways of working.
Angela works closely with Channel 4’s Deputy Head of Programmes to deliver the broadcaster’s diversity strategy and ensure it continues to make progress improving diversity & inclusion both on and off screen. She is also responsible for innovation in commissioning, taking a lead on commissioning genres’ exploitation of opportunities in digital, AFP and partnerships.
Angela heads up the Creative Diversity team, oversees the broadcaster’s diversity budget and the Alpha fund which supports diverse independent production companies and projects.
Angela joined Channel 4 in September 2017 from the BBC where she was Independents Executive. In previous roles Angela was an Executive Producer at Firefly Productions, Keo and Eleven Film, a Deputy Commissioner at Channel 4 Current Affairs, Producer/Director in BBC Specialist Factual and Diversity Advisor for PACT.
