On Friday 25th November we welcomed digital entrepreneur Mark Rock to speak with a selection of television and digital professionals in the swanky surroundings of Glasgow’s Citizen M Hotel.
Mark is Founder and CEO of the playlist creation platform Adio, having previously founded the successful Audioboo, which counted the BBC and Stephen Fry as advocates.
After a healthy dose of morning caffeine and the ever popular networking over bacon rolls, our guests were treated to a presentation from Mark which covered themes ranging from his own personal journey as a serial digital entrepreneur, what ‘innovation’ really means and the trials and tribulations of launching a new startup up Mark’s age (his words, not ours.)
The early bird guests were then witness to a preview of Mark’s soon to be launched playlist creation programme- Adio.
Adio is a web platform letting anyone create beautifully visual playlists combining Youtube videos, Soundcloud tracks & online mp3s. It will allow people to use their interests, knowledge or passions to curate compelling content experiences – regardless of subject area – for the wealth of media that includes but goes also beyond music.
In a morning session full of inspiration and food for thought, perhaps the most insightful discussion came from Mark’s thoughts on innovation.
Innovation should not be confused with creativity. It is a process that needs to be well managed and, if there are any Eureka moments, then they belong to a consumer on encountering the results of such process.
